Tampa Bridal Showcase

This past Sunday was the Tampa Bridal Showcase at the Wyndham Westshore. Over 200 brides came through looking for vendors for their weddings and they certainly had the best of the best to choose from. It was such an awesome show, put on by Monica Varner of Elan Event Studio and the decor was done by the fabulous Amanda and Matt of MMD Events

Not only did we have a great time exhibiting and meeting tons of new couples, but we got to capture the entire show and all the vendors involved. Our favorite part was photographing the models wearing Anglo Coututre gowns by Vicky Anglo which were absolutely stunning. Here are some of the shots from Sunday.















Fabulous no? It was such a pleasure to be part of this show and we can't wait for the next one in March!

CSE Grand Opening and Party!

Well, after a month of buying furniture, building furniture, decorating the space, setting up the studio, making prints, hanging frames, moving our lighting equipment here and planning for the Grand Opening...it's all finally done. The space is 100% ours and we got to celebrate with our friends, family, clients, chamber members and fellow wedding professionals for the dream of opening a store-front that we finally made into a reality.

We had over 70 people come through during the party and congratulate us and celebrate with us with delicious food from Orange Blossom Catering, and treats from our neighbors It's Icing On The Cake.

All in all it was a great event, and I am happy to be back to a normal schedule of editing, designing and blogging. I think I have enough material for a post every day this month so let's see how that goes.

Our Trip to Arizona

After our fabulous night in Sin City, we got to head east to meet up with Evan's parents in Flagstaff, AZ. They rented a cabin there and it was a ton of fun to explore a new environment. We got to go hiking a little on our own and then we drove with the family to Slide Rock park which was a complete blast and do some more hiking in the forest. The creeks were so beautiful and we did a lot of drinking from them- as I tend to trust fast moving river water over the Floridian tap variety. Something about sipping water right from nature really makes me feel free. And of course through the whole trip we had our equipment in tow. So here are some of the shots I wanted to share.

After a few nights in Flagstaff we drove up to the Grand Canyon. I've been out west tons of times but this was our first time seeing the Grand Canyon and it took my breath away.

And the thing that totally blew my mind was being able to see all the stars and constellations so clearly. I'm so used to light pollution and the nights in the Grand Canyon were so peaceful. Can you see the Big Dipper?

Vegas, Baby!

On our way to meet up with Evan's parents and brother in Arizona for our first family vacation including me, the part I was most excited about was the fact we had to fly into Vegas and then drive to Arizona. The plan was to land early, get a few hours of sinful fun in and then head 4 hours east, over the Hoover Dam, and through the woods to where the parentals would already be staying. Well, I've never been to Vegas before and I didn't think it would be my kind of place but there was so much stuff I wanted to see that a few hours wasn't enough. Well, Evan is quite the romantic and he surprised me with reservations at the MGM Grand as an Anniversary present so we could enjoy a whole night and day exploring the strip. Turns out, Vegas totally gets me. I'm usually a super serious person but was totally able to loosen up and have some fun. The shopping! The art! The food! It was fantastic and we had a blast. Evan doubled his investment in blackjack ($10) and I played some slot machines and came out $6 richer.

But it turned out that the Bellagio won my heat, with the Chihully installations and gallery, and of course the Jean Phillipe Patisserie. Absolute heaven.

It's been a bit crazy around here, with moving into the studio and setting up storefront. New Logo!

Of course the plan has always been to re-brand when we get the studio up and running. First things first....logo design. Although Evan and I do most of the graphic elements ourselves and I have lots of design background, I decided to hand over the reigns to a real professional graphic designer...as in it's the only thing she does for a living :) Scared to turn over the reigns to someone else, I am delighted to say it was an amazing experience. After many proofs we narrowed it down and then my designer Katie created the fabulous final logo that I am in love with. It is exactly what I pictured in my head but couldn't put on paper by myself. We should have our new sign next week and business cards following soon.....but here it is.



Katie is located in Tampa and I highly recommend her if you need any help with logo or monogram design as well as marketing materials. She's fabulous!

Our New Studio!

Well the past few weeks have been really crazy, we moved into a studio space on Central Avenue in St Petersburg and the transition has been so much better than expected. We were really nervous about getting a storefront space and all the overhead that comes with it, but we also know it has become a necessity to meet clients and to be as productive as we need to be. We are really lucky to have the business take off the way it has and I think we are realizing that this what we were meant to do. It's coming along amazing so far and we hope to have a huge opening party in about a month. Our space is right next door to It's Icing On The Cake and across the street from The Dressing Room so we have already made lots of new friends and our neighbors are incredible. Now that we're all moved in we've opened doors and started having meetings here and soon we will add our gallery to the front lobby. For now, here are some pictures of the lobby and studio!

Maternity Session: Christine & Joe Plus One

Christine and Joe will be expecting their baby boy this month so we loaded up the mobile studio and met them in their home for their maternity session. Evan and I only have fur babies right now so I always learn new things while shooting maternity photos. The baby was shifting the entire time, I guess it was his way of posing for us :) We had so much fun and I can't wait for him to arrive because we will be shooting Birth Day photos when he joins us! This was such an amazing session and Joe himself is a photographer so they had some really creative ideas and were up for anything. I had trouble choosing favorites, so here are a bunch from our session.
